For those who don’t know (I guess just a few), January 3rd, 2009 marks the birth of Bitcoin. That’s the day when Satoshi Nakamoto mined the very first block of the Bitcoin blockchain — the Genesis Block, also known as Block 0.
Inside it, Satoshi left a message taken from the British newspaper The Times: “The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.”
That message wasn’t just a timestamp — it was a statement. It reflected the financial crisis of the time and symbolized the reason Bitcoin was created: to build a system that doesn’t depend on banks or governments.
The project 2009-JAN-03 takes its name from that historic day, as a tribute to the origin of Bitcoin and to carry forward the same principles of freedom, transparency, and innovation — now in the BRC-20 V 2.0 era.
